The Problem
The gym’s indoor workout areas were becoming excessively hot, especially during peak hours and warmer months. As more patrons used cardio, weights, and group training zones, high temperatures and poor airflow were making the gym environment uncomfortable, reducing user performance and potentially impacting safety. Traditional ventilation and fan-only cooling were insufficient.
The Solution
We installed evaporative coolers to dramatically improve air cooling and circulation within the gym. The coolers were positioned strategically in key zones (cardio machines, group class studio, and high occupancy areas) for maximum effect. We ensured an adequate water supply and airflow so that the evaporative coolers can operate at full capacity without creating humidity issues or dampness. Installation was completed during off-peak hours to avoid disruption to regular gym operations.
The Challenge
Ensuring sufficient airflow into and out of the gym to allow evaporative cooling to work properly. Without open vents/windows or exhaust, the coolers’ efficiency drops significantly.
Preventing excess humidity buildup inside, which could cause discomfort, damp smells or even mould if not managed well.
Positioning units in a way that maintains comfort but doesn’t obstruct equipment, create glare or interfere with class layouts.
Ensuring water supply and draining arrangements so the system can run continuously without interruption or leakage.
Meeting safety, maintenance and hygiene requirements, especially with water-related equipment in a fitness environment.
