The Problem
Harrington Grove Country Estate Kitchen faced challenges maintaining a comfortable indoor environment for diners and staff during warm weather. The busy commercial kitchen and adjoining dining areas experienced heat buildup, impacting customer comfort and staff productivity. Fixed HVAC systems either couldn’t keep up with peak heat loads or were not installed in some key areas, creating pockets of high temperatures that needed a targeted cooling solution.
The Solution
We supplied and deployed a 6 kW Commercial Portable Air Conditioner with a slight tweak tailored to the restaurant’s operational needs. The portable unit delivered powerful, efficient spot cooling directly where it was most needed — from dining areas near kitchen heat sources to guest seating zones. Its mobility allowed staff to reposition the unit as required, ensuring consistent comfort throughout service hours without major installation work.
The Challenge
- Heat from kitchen operations: Managing excess heat transferring from the commercial kitchen into adjacent dining spaces
- Customer comfort: Ensuring cooling performance that upheld a pleasant dining experience even during peak occupancy
- Space optimisation: Positioning the portable unit so it delivered effective airflow without disrupting restaurant layout or pathways
- Operational noise: Balancing strong cooling output with quiet operation to avoid impacting the ambience of the restaurant
