    The motors to a lift at Quay West Suites Hotel malfunctioned due to overheating as the air conditioning unit had broken down.

    The client needed a product which required little, if any attention, whilst operating. Additionally, it was evident that it would be necessary for mechanical staff to have maximum access to machinery for repairs and maintenance  

    The Solution 

    Our 6kw units were perfect for this situation as they not only provided strong cooling solutions, but also self evaporate thus eliminating the need to empty water storage. Also, the 6 k/w units are more compact than the traditional 5k/w units which meant greater accessibility to machinery. The result was that the units provided efficiently kept the temperature down to a level which allowed the lift motors to operate whilst the in house air conditioning was repaired.

    The Problem

    CO2 dry ice block making machine was breaking down as a result of humidity in the air condensing within the machine. This water then dramatically effected both the electronics and mechanical functions of the equipment causing the machine to seize up.

    The Challenge

    To reduce condensation within the machine without increasing the ambient temperature.

    The Solution

    The first option was to try to dehumidify the area around the machines. However it was decided that the dehumidifiers may in fact raise the ambient temperature which would have affected the quality of the product being produced. It was then decided the best approach would be to have a constant air flow through the machinery from one of our portable air conditioning units.

    The Result

    AirXpress Hire was able to use one 5kW air conditioning unit to perform the task of moving cool air through the affected areas of three machines which meant the machinery operated successfully through the summer period.

    The client required portable aircon units that are as compact as possible whilst also emitting strong air flow. Additionally, units were required that would require little, if any, maintenance whilst in commission. Finally, it was necessary to run power leads out of the server rooms in order to not risk overloading power supplies.

    The Solution

    AirXpress Hire decided to use our 6kw portable spot coolers rather than our more traditional 5kw portable commercial aircon units. These units are compact in size whilst providing similar air flow. Also, the 6kw air conditioning units require very little attention once installed as there is no condensation reservoir needing emptying. As part of our service we always monitor the workloads of each power circuit to avoid overloads. We also provide rubber cable covers over any exposed leads in traffic areas to avoid trip hazards for staff and visitors.

    We provided the necessary heating with six electric heaters. Three ceramic tower heaters and three radiant heaters which were were located away from the hands of the public and they also have a safety feature which allows them to switch off when tipped over.
